After the success of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and its return to the craft of practical effects, Tim Burton decided to introduce a stop motion story to his Netflix hit, Wednesday. Looking back to his roots in animation and his early films in particular, he chose to reference the bold, graphic style of his 1982 black & white short Vincent.
